Born in a sleepy little Texas town, Sadie grew up out of
place
and time. She was always drawn to the past, and found her niche one
day
when the Kingdom of Ansteorra held its coronation at the state park
where
she was working her summer job. From the first she was entranced by
the
costumes and pageantry, the camaraderie of like minded people, and
became
active in the SCA from that time forward. In the Real World, she
trained
as a nurse, earning a bachelor's degree in nursing from Texas Women's
University. She went back to her home town and worked in the ICU of
the
local hospital for years before switching to homecare hospice
nursing. When the plague hit, it carried her patients away almost
before
they were done signing their admission forms. Soon, the agency she
worked
for was hit as well, and she found herself the only nurse working as
more
and more of her colleagues called in sick. Then it was over. When she
tried to contact her friends in the Society, she found them gone as
well,
carried off by Captain Tripps, leaving her alone in her sleepy Texas
town.
